Popcorn

I am starting a new list over there to the right...yeah, over there...down just a little...a list of popcorn words from around the world. For some reason, I am getting a kick out of collecting these! Does anyone have any to add?

Wanna add the Chinese word to the list?

popcorn in Chinese is "bao mi hua" . . . which literally means "exploded grain (corn) flower."

don't you think it interesting that several spanish speaking countries use different words for the same english word?

In Guatemala it is poporopo, which earned me a lot of funny looks when we moved to Mexico!

@cindy...I think that's what got me interested...so many different words!

@beth...I'll bet! That is one funny word! I think that the Venezuelan word, "cotufas" is funny, too...reminds me of pantuflas, which are slippers...haha!
